SCOOT POOCH WAS MY FIRST ARCADE GAME, AND WHAT GOT ME STARTED ON THIS CRAZY ADVENTURE.

HAVING SEEN THE INDIE ARCADE AT MAGFEST 2017, AND NOT QUITE UNDERSTANDING IT, I DECIDED THAT BUILDING AN ARCADE GAME WAS AN ENTIRELY REASONABLE PROPOSITION. ORIGINALLY, I THOUGHT ABOUT MAKING A TWO PLAYER TWIN-STICK SHOOTER, LIKE SMASH TV. A FRIEND JOKINGLY SUGGESTED I MAKE A GAME YOU PLAY WITH YOUR BUTT. AFTER WRESTLING WITH HOW TO TURN A ROWING MACHINE INTO A GAME, THE CONCEPT EVOLVED INTO SCOOT POOCH.

THE CONCEPT IS A TWO PLAYER RACING GAME WHERE YOU TAKE CONTROL OF A DOG SCOOTING ITS BUTT ACROSS THE CARPET. THE CONTROLS ARE TWO TRACKBALLS FOR EACH PLAYER, EACH REPRESENTING ONE OF YOUR PAWS, AS WELL AS A FOOT PEDAL OR BUTTON TO JUMP. BONUSES ARE AWARDED FOR FINISHING THE COURSE FIRST, AS WELL AS BREAKING AS MANY OBJECTS IN THE HOUSE BEFORE COMPLETING THE RACE.
